問題一、語法知識貧乏，句子讀不懂

很多考生都會覺得GRE填空不考語法。事實上，GRE考試不考語法是真，但是并不代表其對考生的語法知識沒有要求。如果說詞匯是建構語言的材料，那么語法就是建構語言的基本規(guī)則。對語法知識缺乏起碼的理解和掌握，很容易導致在閱讀一段文字時毫無生詞但難以理解整體句意，其結果則是答題時難以下手。這一點對GRE閱讀和填空來說都是成立的。

實際上，GRE填空中所出現(xiàn)的語法知識，我們在初高中的時候已經學習了，所以考生做一定的回顧復習就可以了。

問題二、憑一己之見作為解題依據(jù)

GRE填空是推理題，也就是說考生需要根據(jù)題目中已知的信息推斷出答案，所以考生不能夠根據(jù)自己的生活經驗、價值觀、所學知識基礎作為解題的線索和依據(jù)。如果利用題干之外的信息推理判斷空格所填內容，很容易陷入個人經驗和好惡的聯(lián)想和解釋，從而得出完全錯誤的答案。因此考生在做填空題的時候，切忌用題干以外的任何內容作為解題依據(jù)，必須牢記一點：所有的解題線索能且僅能來自題干本身。

問題三、大難臨頭，找不出解題線索

GRE考試是一場公平的考試，所有學科的考生都會公平對待，所以考題中不會考查任何學科中的專有名詞、專業(yè)術語和概念知識。但是這并不意味著GRE考試不要求考生有任何的知識基礎。事實上，由于題目材料中包含的信息多樣，有些較難的題目中又無明確提示解題線索的標志，必須理解句意才能確定地選出答案。否則在做題時就容易產生不確定感，進而易犯錯誤。所以考生解決這一問題唯一有效的途徑，就在于讀書、學習、思考和積累，沒有捷徑。
