因此對很多雅思閱讀中的長難句而言,無非就是從簡單句添加定語、補(bǔ)語狀語等成分后轉(zhuǎn)化成的復(fù)雜句。因此小編再談到的分組式閱讀,其實就是講長難句或者詞組進(jìn)行劃分不同的部分進(jìn)行閱讀,先找到主謂賓,再找相對應(yīng)的修飾語句。這樣句子被歸組之后,除了能夠理清句子強(qiáng)調(diào)的重點(diǎn)之外,更能提高我們雅思閱讀的意義。我們可以通過劍橋雅思6 Test4 Passage2第8段其中一部分進(jìn)行比較:

考生如果逐字逐句的劃分的話,則需要差不多30多次的停頓才能讀完這句話,意思往往會被錯誤理解,例如研究表明預(yù)算給世界銀行會幫助提高經(jīng)濟(jì),還能增加兒童健康。這種理解往往產(chǎn)生主語的歧義。如果我們按照雅思分組式閱讀法來看,只需要幾次的停頓就可以很容易讀懂這句長句的真正意思:為研究表明增加教育預(yù)算給世界銀行能夠有助于發(fā)展中國家經(jīng)濟(jì)建設(shè)和兒童健康的提高。

此外,很多考生很簡單的認(rèn)為這種雅思分組式閱讀法無非就是解構(gòu)句子,然后進(jìn)行閱讀理解。其實這只說對了一部分,考生通過對相關(guān)的分組,能夠避免以單個單詞為單位進(jìn)行逐個閱讀,就是常規(guī)的逐字逐句。逐字逐句閱讀不僅很容易對句子的意義產(chǎn)生誤解,而且速度很慢。應(yīng)對小篇幅的文章而言,逐字逐句閱讀是可以的;但是對于雅思閱讀這種偏學(xué)術(shù)類(文章,文章篇幅過長且考試時間緊張,并不適用),考生們在國外接受純英語授課,需要閱讀和接受大量的外文資料,逐字逐句閱讀實在效率太低了。

看看上述例子,主語是Long-day plants,謂語是are adapted for situations,修飾謂語的賓語從句是that require fertilisation by insects.因此考生可以很快進(jìn)行語法劃分,進(jìn)行分組式閱讀。上文也提到過句子的結(jié)構(gòu)其實很簡單,因此我們按照句子中的主語,謂語,賓語進(jìn)行分組,然后對修飾主謂賓的成分——定狀補(bǔ)進(jìn)行分組,這樣就有更好理解句子的意思,而且能更快掌握。

單詞
對于不少學(xué)習(xí)英語的人來說,首當(dāng)其沖的應(yīng)該就是單詞。
很多的人對背單詞十分頭疼。往往一個單詞花了時間去看了,背了,而且例句也都看過,背后,然而過了幾天再一次在新的閱讀材料里看到那個單詞的時候又會再次傻眼。不少的人為了提高單詞量,一味地盲目去選擇各式各樣的詞匯書進(jìn)行背誦,這樣做并不是很一個人都能達(dá)到自己的目標(biāo)的,而且很容易事倍功半。也許你就曾經(jīng)有過這樣的經(jīng)歷:拿起一本單詞書從A開始背誦,背到B的時候已經(jīng)沒有什么耐心了,到C時就背不下去了,于是開始反過來又從Z開始背誦,這樣又堅持不到幾天,發(fā)現(xiàn)效果并不太大,于是乎,那本單詞書就被你扔到了一邊,當(dāng)你再次想起它的時候,身邊的人早己經(jīng)超過了自己。
通過相關(guān)地統(tǒng)計,可以看到,一般的閱讀當(dāng)中有90%以上的是大學(xué)四、六級詞匯,所以只要掌握了大學(xué)四級、六級詞匯,在閱讀上基本就不會存在詞匯量少影響成績的問題了。
那單詞到底應(yīng)該怎么背呢?
其實不同的人可以選擇不同的方式。如果你覺得背詞匯書對你來說效果很好,你可以繼續(xù)下去。但如果你發(fā)現(xiàn)當(dāng)你背了兩個月的詞匯,但收效甚微的話,你可以試試通過泛讀和精讀相結(jié)合的方式。也是通過泛讀來提高陌生單詞的出現(xiàn)率,爭取讓生詞變熟詞,并通過精讀掌握熟詞的更多種用法。
還有一種方法就是發(fā)散思維背誦單詞法。所謂發(fā)散思維,就是通過一個單詞或詞根聯(lián)想到詞根相同或詞型相仿又或是發(fā)音相同的單詞。比如說,通過單詞prove聯(lián)想到improve再聯(lián)想到improvement。再比如說,看到單詞chicken發(fā)散到單詞kitchen。這種發(fā)散思維背誦法可以讓你通單詞間的對比來達(dá)到加深記憶的效果。
如果你有精力,也可以嘗試一下將這幾種方法都結(jié)合起來,這樣可能會達(dá)到你自己都意想不到的效果。
二、長句
不少的學(xué)生曾經(jīng)有過這樣的經(jīng)歷,一篇文章拿到手里,所有的單詞都認(rèn)識,但是就是理不清楚其中的關(guān)系,關(guān)鍵長句讀不通,讀不懂,閱讀理解的正確率就會大大地下降了。其實這并不是你思維有問題或者單詞量不夠,而是你對語句的語法分析不夠船長的緣故。在長句當(dāng)中,會出現(xiàn)一些常用的句中句、省略結(jié)構(gòu)、倒裝結(jié)構(gòu)等等。
掌握長句的分析并不需要題海戰(zhàn)術(shù)那樣的大量練習(xí)。雖然很多學(xué)生一看到長句心里就有一種害怕的感覺,潛意識是就告訴自己:完了,這句話一定看不懂了。所以學(xué)生往往沒有好好地分析句子,單是一個長期的心理習(xí)慣就讓他們在長句面前丟失了陣地。
