雅思閱讀高分原則:認識總分段落

說明文的段落中,大部分為總分結構,即段落的第一句或前兩句為中心句,其后的內容就是一些細節(jié)、例子或者數據分析,這些內容目的是為了支持開頭的主題。這些段落的中心句通常是一個具有概括性語氣的陳述句,而后的內容包含細節(jié)描述、數據和例子,也比較容易被識別出來。

雅思閱讀高分原則:認識因果段落

因果段落具有明顯的連接詞來表示其中的關系,例如therefore, as a result, because, thus, hence等。對于這樣的段落,通常會考查T/F/NG判斷題、多選題或填空題。例如劍五-4 THE EFFECTS OF LIGHT ON PLANT AND ANIMAL SPECIES第三段:Breeding seasons in animals such as birds have evolved to occupy the part of the year in which offspring have the greatest chances……Thus many temperate-zone birds use the in creasing day lengths……

雅思閱讀高分原則:認識轉折段落

轉折段落中的考點是雅思閱讀考試中的一類經典考點,提醒考生們應該對其保持高度的警覺。一旦在skimming過程中,或者做題找答案的過程中看到however/but等表示轉折的連接詞,就要清楚轉折的地方一定會設置考點,通常為T/F/NG、多選題、HEADING。遇到轉折段落,那么該段的中心會體現(xiàn)在however /but的后面,因此句子間的意思就比較明顯了:however/but前的句子內容為前提條件、之前的預測或研究結果等;而連接詞后面的則是與前文不一致的地方,或者說是更有價值的地方。在轉折段中重要的信息都存在于轉折詞后面的內容。

雅思閱讀高分原則:認識遞進段落

遞進段落也常伴隨表示遞進關系的連接詞,如moreover/furthermore等,也有的段中沒有連接詞,但是通過意思能判斷出段落后半部分的內容更加重要。遞進的內容通常是對之前提到內容的補充,也就是說,遞進前后的內容屬于一個大類,是并列的內容。
