1. Do you like being alone?
Yeah, I don’t mind being alone. I guess as long as it’s not, like, for a really long length of time, it’s fine. You know, it’s kind of um… I don’t really know how to put it, but I suppose what I’m basically trying to say is that it feels kind of relaxing being alone. You know, it gives me the chance to ponder and reflecton certain stuff. So um… yeah, I find it quite enjoyable, but if I’m alone for a long length of time, then I guess it can get quite depressing.

2. What do you do when you’re alone?
I would say, on the whole, I mainly like to read when I’m alone. That’s one of the things I most enjoy doing, you know, sitting down with a book. It’s just a really relaxing way to pass the time! And apart from that, um.. what else do I like doing on my own…? Uh… Sometimes I might watch a bit of TV, because if it’s too quiet around me it can feel a bit discomforting, if you know what I mean, it just adds to the loneliness. So if I’ve got the TV on, it feels kind of nice having some sound around me, which in a way, gets rid of the loneliness to some extent.

3. Do you prefer to spend time with your friends or just stay at home alone?
Um… thinking about it, I’d say I generally prefer to spend time with my friends, simply because I always have a good time whenever I’m with them. But that’s not to say I don’t like being on my own at home, it’s just that it’s not as fun! You know, I’m quite a sociable person by nature, so I tend to preferbeing in the company of others.
嗯……想想看，我通常喜歡和朋友在一起，只是因為我和他們在一起的時候總是很開心。但這并不是說我不喜歡獨自呆在家里，只是它沒有那么有趣!你知道，我天生就是一個善于交際的人，所以我傾向于和別人在一起。
4. When was the last time you were alone?
Um… I suppose it really depends for how long. Because I mean, pretty much every day I’m alone for some parts of the day, although it may just be for a very short period of time. But um…let me see……the last time I was alone was yesterday in fact, when I was doing some reading in my room. And I was on my own for about two or three hours or so.

I’m going to talk about the award-winning movie director James Cameron. I first came to knowhim from his most famous movie Titanic. It was really popular in China at the time. Even though Iwas quite young when I saw the movie, I was deeply moved by the story. Cameron found major success after directing and writing a wealth of (大量的) science fiction action films and built hisreputation (建立聲譽) in this genre. He is the writer, director and producer of The Terminator,Aliens and Avatar. I absolutely love those films because I was amazed every time by the original,peculiar and unique ideas in those films. Terminator was created quite a few years ago. The moviepresents unique thoughts on the future and interesting ideas of a killer robot from the future. A lotof the things that were science fiction in Terminator are now actually around us. The story of Avatar, which I bet (我相信) you know, had been scratching at Cameron’s dream and imagination since he was a child. He surprised audiences with his very creative idea which was set in the future,on a jungle planet Pandora and a with different race from humans. This idea had to wait many yearsas the technology didn't even exist to make the film. Cameron then helped develop cutting edge 3D camera systems, which pushed technological innovation (技術(shù)革新) in film making. I really respect James Cameron for his interesting ideas and creativity. Even though I will never make movies, I feel there is much to learn from his ideas and how he takes action (采取行動) with ideas right away.

If possible, I hope to go to Nanjing for three days with my parents in early April. At that time, the temperature will be suitable for travelling. InNanjing, we can feel the historical charm in the presidential palace and Xuanwu Lake. The Nanjing presidential palace is a collection of scientific research, the cultural relic preservation(文物保存),the popular science education and the traveling is a body comprehensive museum(綜合性博物館).
Xuanwu Lake is in the northeast portion of Nanjing City near the railway station. Besides, we canenjoy the local delicacies, like salty wild duck, duck blood and bean-starchy vermicelli soup, eightspecial snacks in Qinhuai etc. in some famous culinary tourist attractions, such as: Confucius temple,and Lion Bridge. Actually, Nanjing and the salty wild duck have a very complicated relation(千絲萬縷的聯(lián)系). It is reported that in the Qing Dynasty salty wild duck was just as popular,and in Nanjing's Confucian temple examination hall the examinees converged to eat it.(考生云集). I do believe that a three-day trip is sure to be full of joy. And it will be one of the most memorableadventures of my life.
