卡片舉例
Describe a family member that you are very close to.
Your should say:
Who this person is.
What this person is like.
How you are like and unlike this person.
And explain why you are close to this person.
在第二部分的描述中，對人物的描述是考試的主流話題之一。人物描述出現(xiàn)的概率相當(dāng)高，幾乎在每個月的考試?yán)锩娑寄苡龅?。一般來講，人物描述的體現(xiàn)方式有以下幾種：a famous person / a child / an old person / a favorite teacher / a close family member / a close friend
不論怎么樣的表現(xiàn)形式，對于考生來說，只要掌握方法，都能逐一破解。有的考生可能會提出疑問，如果只是回答卡片上的幾個問題，似乎很難達(dá)到2分鐘的時間長度。那么，卡片上沒有沒到的方面，我可以進(jìn)行描述嗎?回答是肯定的。但是前提是，這些雖然不是卡片問題的內(nèi)容，但也必須是和該卡片主體息息相關(guān)的信息。
對于該人物的描述，考生需要注意以下幾個方面：
1、對卡片上的問題進(jìn)行回答。
以上卡片包含著4個問題，在筆記過程中應(yīng)當(dāng)以詞語為基礎(chǔ)來進(jìn)行分解：
Who this person is. (人物，e.g. my mother)
What this person is like. (描述性詞語，e.g. looks, personality, hobbies)
How you are like and unlike this person. (比較和對比，similarities – looks & hobbies; differences in personality)
Why you are close to this person. (該家庭成員對自己的影響.)
2、對卡片上沒有提到信息進(jìn)行描述。
在準(zhǔn)備的1分鐘里面，考生可以將一些問題的答案關(guān)鍵詞的形式紀(jì)錄在紙張上，即以上括號里面的一些內(nèi)容，以起到提醒的作用。然后結(jié)合自己的情況進(jìn)行相關(guān)的描述。
Sample Answer：The person I am very close to in my family is my mother. My mother is medium height who always wears a friendly smile on her face. Blue is her favorite color as she thinks it symbols peace and emotion. I think is has a lot to do with her personality. As a music teacher, she is always very patient and kind to her students. There are quite a few similarities between us. People all say that I look like my mother more than my father. We both like listening to the music and watching movies. On weekends, we often go shopping in the supermarkets or department stores. But we are also different in many ways. My mother is a good gardener. Our veranda is lined with all her gardening masterpieces, such as chrysanthemum and Chinese roses. I am not so patient in taking care of the plants. Besides, my mother can cook many delicious dishes, while I can’t at all. I have learned how to treat people and how to deal with problems on my own from her. She is the one I am close to as she really influences me a lot.
有的考生在未結(jié)束描述前，可能被考官打斷(Sorry. I am gonna stop you there.)如果遇到這樣的情況，是因為考官需要掌握和掌控考試的節(jié)奏和時間，打斷并非是由于認(rèn)為考生講得不好，所以考生不必緊張，只需要根據(jù)考官的指令繼續(xù)考試即可。
鑒于雅思口語考試的特殊性，很多考試的卡片問題是一般的考生在日常生活中很少接觸到的方面。所以對于備考雅思的考生，建議一定要在考前有針對性的進(jìn)行充分準(zhǔn)備，并適當(dāng)聯(lián)系筆記的技巧，加之有規(guī)律的練習(xí)，才能在第二部分中有比較滿意的表現(xiàn)。

About five years ago I visited several friends in Guiyang for a few days. At the end of my stay I got a taxi to the airport, checked in and made my way through airport security. When I think about this experience, I still feel a bit angry because planes kept delaying and I could do nothing about it. Also, I had that a mixed feeling that in front of Mother Nature, our human kind is so small and frail. We could build big planes but we can’t fight against the bad weather.
