Describe a couple you know who you think have a happy marriage.

You should say:

Who they are;

How you got to know them;

How long they’ve been married;

and explain why you think they have a happy marriage.

Neighbor living downstairs

Walk dogs

1 year

why– happy

a.do everything together, even walk dogs

b.common interest- backpacking.

Dogs

1 y

2 interest- backpacking.(這里的2可以表示兩個人,也就是兩個人有共同的愛好)

I wanna say something about the young couple living downstairs. We both have dogs, so we always bump into each other at dog-walking hours. Since we are about the same age, we always have a lot to talk about.

As far as I know, they married last year, after being together 7 years and knowing each other for 17 years. They must have a deep affection for each other, cos otherwise they wouldn't’ have made it this far.

As for why I think they are happily married, well, for starters, I know a lot of couples who take turns to walk their dogs, but this couple always walk their dog together. And rather than having one person lagging or dragging behind the other, they always walk comfortably hand in hand or side by side. I get the impression that they find time for each other and enjoy being with each other.

More importantly, they share a common interest ——backpacking. I heard them talking on several occasions that they would rather spend money on travelling than on the latest models of mobile phones or name brand clothes. I’ve seen many of their travelling photos, and they always wear joyful smiles, like they are saying how lucky they are to have each other.

An English Class

The English lesson that left me a deep impression( 讓我印象深刻)was taught by my junior high-school teacher, Miss Wang. One day she came into the class with a bag of things in her hand. I was curious about what they were and Miss wang said “it’s a surprise!” That really made me more interested. Later she told the class that we were going to learn how to order meals in English. First she showed pictures of tasty food and played a video of a person ordering steak. From the video, I learned lots of natural expressions (自然的表達), and even better, I got to know some western table manners, like you have to put your napkin on your lap before you eat the steak, and place fork in your left hand and hold the knife in your right hand. The best part was that we had a role-playing game. My teacher Miss wang first divided the class into pairs, gave us some food as realia (課堂教具), and provided some sentences and dialogues for us to practice. Everything went on smoothly and effectively. It was definitely one of the best English lessons I’ve ever had.

I have had many English lessons throughout my academic years, and the most impressive one was taught by my junior high-school English teacher, X. It was a Friday morning; she came into the class, holding her teaching materials and carrying a huge bag of things. When wondering what they were, I was told that it’s gonna be a surprise for the class. That really held my attention

Shortly afterwards, she said to the class“today, we are going to learn how to order a menu in english” On hearing that,I was like “wow, is she going to treat us to some delicacies(請我們吃美味佳肴)? That would be amazing!” Then basically, she showed some pictures of tantalizing food on her power-point, and engaged students to discuss what they prefer to eat and why. Every one looked so intrigued and was eager to talk. In a while she played a video of a person ordering a menu in a steak house. Through watching that clip(片段), not only did I learn some authentic restaurant vocabulary and expressions (地道的用餐詞匯和表達), but also I got aware ofwesterndining etiquette(西方用餐禮儀). I have to say that lesson was really well-planned(精心設(shè)計的). But that’s not all. What fascinated me most was the food she brought to the class. Believe it or not, those things in the bag were mini steaks! Hardly can you imagine how much she must have spent on them. The final activity was a role-playing game: students working in pairs, one plays the role of a waiter and the other a customer. I was lucky enough to the customer and try the steak. It was like a taste of heaven(太美味了!), so tender and fresh.

All in all, this lesson was definitely something unforgettable. It was about English, but also about culture and communication. Totally student-focused(以學生為中心)!

Last July, my mom took me to Jiuzhaigou, which is a popular tourist spot in the south of China. It’s a place I’d always wanted to visit, so I could finally cross it out from my bucket list.

This place is lousy with tourists during August, ‘cause the scenery is the most fascinating during that period of time. My summer vacation happens to be in the peak season, so you can imagine how many people were there, and there were long lines in front of the gate, we waited for… like 2 hours before we entered, which was kind of a bummer. But it didn’t kill the fun at all, ‘cause the gorgeous views really made up for it.

There’s one funny thing about this place I have to mention. It’s actually a small village, but it has so many “oceans”. The truth is, they are all lakes, but the locals just call them ocean ‘cause they’ve never seen real ones. And the views around those lakes were breathtaking! I mean, the water is crystal clear with an azure color, we could see the fishes and roots of the trees clearly. And sometimes, the water has more than just one color, which is incredible, you know. Although it rained a lot, it never made the place less attractive. And when the weather is nice, we could see the lake shimmering in the sunlight.

This idyllic place could really help take my mind off things. I mean, it’s hard for someone to get upset or have a heavy heart in such a pleasant environment.

cross something out / through = to draw a line through a word, usually because it is wrong

bucket list = A list of accomplishments or tasks one hopes to do or achieve before one dies. "Bucket" here is taken from the phrase "kick the bucket," meaning to die. 例如:

Sky-diving is the number-one thing on my bucket list.

lousy with = having too much of something or too many people 例如:

The hotels are always lousy with people during the peak season. (=when most people are on holiday/vacation)

peak = [only before noun] used to describe the highest level of something, or a time when the greatest number of people are doing something or using something 例如:

It was a time of peak demand for the product.

March is one of the peak periods for our business.

The athletes are all in peak condition.

We need extra help during the peak season.

a bummer = a disappointing or unpleasant situation 例如:

It's a real bummer that she can't come.

make up for something = to do something that corrects a bad situation = compensate 例如:

Nothing can make up for the loss of a child.

After all the delays, we were anxious to make up for lost time.

Her enthusiasm makes up for her lack of experience.

A warm and sunny September made up for a miserable wet August.

shimmer = to shine with a soft light that seems to move slightly 例如:

The surface of the road shimmered in the midday heat.

a heavy heart = a feeling of great sadness 例如:

She left her children behind with a heavy heart.

雅思口語話題范文:describe a sport game you 've watch

I’m really into watching figure skating, I find that sport entertaining and relaxing. The athletes, it’s like they are dancing to the music, I mean, they cut patterns in the ice and do jumps and spins, so watching the game is just like watching an artistic performance.

When the players complete a skillful maneuver on the ice, all the audience would stand up and cheer for them, it’s just so exciting and enjoyable to look at.

This sport is really popular in my hometown, ‘cause winter here is so long that basically every kid knows how to skate. It’s our favorite pastime during winter. I fancy myself as an excellent skater, but I could never do those awesome movements in figure skating, like landing on the ice after a series of actions in the air. So I could tell from experience, this sport requires years of hard work and practice.

I still remember the first figure skating match I watched when I was little. It was … like, 10 years ago, my dad took me to a newly built ice rink to watch a game between our team and a team from a neighboring city. I don’t remember many details from that game, but I do remember the atmosphere in the audience. They were not like those crazy football fans who would paint their face and body with logos of their teams. That day, everyone just sat there quietly before the match, and enjoyed the ‘performance’ when the music started. So I guess that’s the beauty of figure skating. From that day, I just became fascinated by this sport.

The game was awesome, all the athletes were excellent and I have to say, it was really a feast for the eye. For me, the result is not that important, I mean, I don’t care at all who is the winner. To me, they are all winners. And I guess that’s the beauty of this sport.

maneuver = a movement performed with care and skill 例如:

a complicated / skillful maneuver

You will be asked to perform some standard maneuvers during your driving test.

pastime = something that you enjoy doing when you are not working = hobby

Like = used in very informal speech to show that what you are saying may not be exactly right but is nearly so

I'm leaving in like twenty minutes.

It's going to cost like a hundred dollars.

ice rink = a specially prepared flat surface of ice, where you can ice-skate; a building where there is an ice rink
