As is often read in the newspaper reports, wild life especially the rare species is threatened with extinction. Human beings are making attempts to hunt wild animals for a big profit., which, of course, results in a sharp decrease in the number of animals. So it is high time for us to take quick action to protect them.

First of all, it's quite necessary for every citizen to realize the importance of animal protection. Only by knowing its importance can people develop a sense of responsibility. People will surely take it for granted to have the duty to prevent any killing of wild animals. So a national publicity campaign should be launched, thus giving animals a good living environment. In addition, the government should pass some laws to forbid any hunting of rare animals. We don't expect anything harmful to wild life to happen again.

If everyone is involved in the protection of wild life, we're sure man will be a good friend of animals rather than their enemy.

i live in hollywood. you may think people in such a glamorous, fun-filled place are happier than others. if so, you have some mistaken ideas about the nature of happiness. many intelligent people still equate happiness with fun. the truth is that fun and happiness have little or nothing in common. fun is what we experience during an act. happiness is what we experience after an act. it is a deeper, more abiding emotion. going to an amusement park or ball game, watching a movie or television, are fun activities that help us relax, temporarily forget our problems and maybe even laugh. but they do not bring happiness, because their positive effects end when the fun ends.i have often thought that if hollywood stars have a role to play, it is to teach us that happiness has nothing to do with fun. these rich, beautiful individuals have constant access to glamorous parties, fancy cars, expensive homes, everything that spells "happiness". but in memoir after memoir, celebrities reveal the unhappiness hidden beneath all their fun: depression, alcoholism, drug addiction, broken marriages, troubled children, profound loneliness. the way people cling to the belief that a fun-filled, pain-free life equates happiness actually diminishes their chances of ever attaining real happiness. if fun and pleasure are equated with happiness, then pain must be equated with unhappiness. but, in fact, the opposite is true: more times than not, things that lead to happiness involve some pain. as a result, many people avoid the very endeavors that are the source of true happiness. they fear the pain inevitably brought by such things as marriage, raising children, professional achievement, religious commitment, civic or charitable work, and self-improvement.

This month, I will travel to Changsha and Zhangjiajie with my two friends, which is supposed to be a seven-day trip. We will set out on 10th, June. Now, we have prepared many things, snacks and medicines included. Firstly, we will go to Changsha by plane. The tickets are cheap, so it’s a good choice to save time. We will stay there for two days. The main goal staying there is to enjoy the delicious food in Changsha. My friend has prepared a map of must-tries and I believe they must be good. Then we will go to Zhangjiajie by train. It’s not so far from Changsha, taking about five hours to get there. Zhangjiajie is famous for its wonderful mountains. The sceneries there are amazing that no one should miss. But we will have a tough journey for climbing high mountains, which is not easy for us all. This is why we will stay there for longer. In the end, we will go home by train. This is my plan for the journey. I am sure it will be a wonderful and fruitful journey.

In 2005, there was a reform in the system of College English Test, which meant college students would get their test marks and there would be no limit to the times they may attend the tests before they graduate. They can attend several times before graduation until getting the scores they expect. From my point of view, it's not necessary at all.

To begin with, CET only proves one's qualification, and it's only a measurement of students'knowledge of basic knowledge. It can not necessarily tell everythingof one's English ability. Passing the tests can not prove that one can use English skillfully. It's the use of English that can tell one's English ability. Moreover, students should spend more time in their major courses, rather than in getting higher scores in CET. Preparing for CET is a huge job that costs a lot of time. College students should focus on improving their major skills and comprehensive skills. English is just used as a tool in communication, but the modern society needs those people who grasp perse skills. The companies and enterprises will take the candidate's ability on major courses into consideration rather than only the CET scores.

From the discussions above, we can conclude that the score of CET-4 and CET-6 can't prove one's all-round ability as much as previously thought. Therefore, college students needn't to attend CET-4 or CET-6 repeatedly, and what they should do is try their best to improve their major courses and comprehensive skills.

Autumn in Countryside

It gradually turns cool. The sunlight is no longer so strong and the cicadas have stopped crying. The hot summer went by at last. The favorite season in the year is coming.

Everywhere we can see the scene of bumper crops: on the fields is golden rice,on the trees are ripe fruits. The farmers faces are full of smiles. They are now expecting a good harvest through a summer's hard work.

The autumn evening is especially beautiful. When the setting sun goes slowly down to the west, the sky over the mountains is covered with red rays of evening sunlight, which shines upon the blue sky and floating clouds, just as the maple leaves fall onto the sky.

It is getting cool at dusk. The wind blows, the moonlight shines on the ground, the frogs croak and insects chirp in the fields. Such a situation will make you forget all the unhappy things in the daytime.

I love the beautiful season.
