口語評分標(biāo)準(zhǔn)
想要達(dá)到預(yù)期的分?jǐn)?shù),還是要緊扣口語考試的評分標(biāo)準(zhǔn),雅思口語共有四項(xiàng)評分標(biāo)準(zhǔn):流利性和連貫性,詞匯范圍和準(zhǔn)確性,語法范圍和準(zhǔn)確性,發(fā)音。
通過三個(gè)考試部分的考核,這四個(gè)標(biāo)準(zhǔn)分別得到相應(yīng)的分?jǐn)?shù),平均分才是最終口語成績。我們來一項(xiàng)項(xiàng)看中國學(xué)生的問題出在哪里。
詞匯和語法
先看詞匯和語法這兩項(xiàng)中國學(xué)生比較熟悉且擅長的部分,多年來的應(yīng)試教育使得中國學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)語言的重點(diǎn)幾乎都落在了背單詞和做語法題這兩個(gè)部分,客觀地說,中國學(xué)生的詞匯不少,至少很多學(xué)生表示“看到都能認(rèn)識”,可“就是想不起來用”,而雅思口語的要求偏偏就是不見得詞匯量有多少,而是是否學(xué)過的詞都能用等很好。
比如我們在介紹building這個(gè)話題的時(shí)候,大多數(shù)同學(xué)其實(shí)想不起來architecture這樣的詞,但當(dāng)這個(gè)詞放在他們面前的時(shí)候,絕大多數(shù)同學(xué)都是認(rèn)識的。所以雅思的詞匯不等于詞匯量大,等同于“能用”、“用得靈活”、“能夠用有限的詞匯表達(dá)復(fù)雜的意思”等更加側(cè)重于應(yīng)用的部分。語法其實(shí)跟詞匯的問題類似,我們在中學(xué)里做了太多太多的語法題,會給句子挑錯(cuò),能讀懂很復(fù)雜的句子,但當(dāng)我們自己在說的時(shí)候,往往就只會很簡答的句子。
因此我們對雅思口語評分標(biāo)準(zhǔn)提及的詞匯和語法不要過多的解讀,其實(shí)記住“靈活運(yùn)用”才是他的核心。然而跟詞匯語法相比,流利性和連貫性以及語音才是我們達(dá)分提分的關(guān)鍵。
給考官留下好印象
從總體的情況來看,就大多數(shù)基礎(chǔ)一般的同學(xué)來說,詞匯和語法的差別不大,比較能體現(xiàn)學(xué)生口語水平的地方主要在“流利”和“語音”兩大塊,這就要從雅思口試“人人對話”的模式說起。既然考試的對象不是機(jī)器是人,那我們不能不忽略“人”的主觀印象對學(xué)生英語口語能力的影響。
什么樣的考生能讓考官留下好的第一印象呢?首先,當(dāng)然要聽著“順”,說話不能有頻繁的停頓,“順”其實(shí)代表的是對話題相關(guān)詞匯和語法的熟練程度。哪怕內(nèi)容并不復(fù)雜,但只要符合“順”的要素,是絕對可以給考官留下很好的印象的,而事實(shí)證明,只要說得比較順,沒有很大的問題,大多數(shù)考生其實(shí)可以拿到6分的口語成績。當(dāng)然不得不承認(rèn),語音語調(diào)在這里也會起到一些作用。中國學(xué)生在口語表達(dá)是不夠大方自信,而多年不開口也導(dǎo)致語音語調(diào)很平板沒有啟起伏,讓聽者不知不覺覺得很無聊,而分散了注意力。
加上中國考生眾多,思路雷同,表達(dá)相近,所以很難拿到高分也是有自身的原因。但站在考官的角度,如果對方是個(gè)個(gè)性外向,表達(dá)出強(qiáng)烈的交流意愿,且竭盡所能用自己的語匯表達(dá)自己的想法,其實(shí)對考官來說至少是“有能力”的,也是“有趣的”,如果音調(diào)能夠有抑揚(yáng)頓挫,或者至少有起伏,聽著“不無聊”,那其實(shí)6分的口語成績也沒有那么難。
如何短期提升口語能力
分析下來,針對大多數(shù)基礎(chǔ)一般甚至較弱的同學(xué)來說,想要在短期內(nèi)體提高雅思口語成績,讓自己迅速突破6的關(guān)卡,一練“流利”,二練“語音”。流利程度怎么來?很簡單,老師上課講的問題,或者自己回家復(fù)習(xí)的問題,是不是每一個(gè)都過關(guān)了?每一個(gè)都可以回答得很流利?如果沒有,一個(gè)一個(gè)問題練,一遍不行說兩遍,兩遍不行說三遍,直到自己覺得自己終于說得順暢了問題。每一個(gè)問題都要這樣過,堅(jiān)持下去,你會發(fā)現(xiàn),很多表達(dá)是有相通之處的,之前練得很熟悉的表達(dá)說不定下次就能用得上。
但有同學(xué)會問,那我怎么保證我的內(nèi)容好不好。之前提到過,口語里的詞匯和語法對于大多數(shù)同學(xué)來說,水平相處并不大,而拉開差距的主要是熟練程度,哪怕內(nèi)容簡單些,但說得足夠順溜,對達(dá)到大多數(shù)同學(xué)出國留學(xué)的基本分?jǐn)?shù)線,是夠的。
所以,練習(xí)起來吧,口語沒有捷徑,誰花的功夫多,誰就一定可以有提高。
