This summer,my family took a car journey to the south of China where there was a famous resort by the sea.

My uncle lives and works abroad. He rarely gets the chance to go home because his workis very demanding. Recently however he was able to take a few weeks off, so he came back.My uncle had told us about a plan he had to take a long trip through the country and all of us agreed. He said that it had always been his dream and now we are going to share in it.We all packed our bags and he rented a vehicle large enough to accommodate all of us. He volunteered to drive the first few miles but since it was a long and exhausting drive for just one man, he and my father took turns on the wheel.

The resort was everything it promised to be and more. There were many activities for us to do like the usual sightseeing and picture taking. We also got the chance to try scuba diving, snorkeling and parasailing.

Since it was the first time we had a trip by car, we felt so excited that we made as much noise as we could. We were all singing, telling jokes and sharing stories.

Last year，before the summer vocation my parents decided to go travelling to Sichuan during my summer vocation. We all wanted to go to JiuZhaigou very much, which was famous for the beautiful autumn scenery. Hot pot would be definitely the first thing we ate in Sichuan, I guess nobody could resist the temptation of it. Someone told me Sichuan ,especially the capital city Chengdu was full of beautiful and interesting ladies ,I would like to find out whether that was true or not. We all looked forward to the journey.

However, before we set off , we had a long discussion ,you even could call it “battle” about how we should go to Sichuan . Mum believed package tour would be easier, the travel agency would be responsible for everything, transportation, ticket, hotel, and our luggage. Dad hold another opinion ,he persisted in self-driving, he didn’t like guided tour, because there were so many reports about tour guide forcing the tourists to purchase recently, he thought this behavior from tour guide would destroy our holiday, mum couldn't deny this, so she surrendered. Actually I was happy that mum gave up.

We drove to hunan province first, went to the well-known mountain zhangjiajie. We planned to stay there for 2 days, but in the hotel we lived, we met another family who was also in a self-driving tour. Mum loved that family, so we changed our plan. We were there for 4 days in the end, then we went to Sichuan together.

When seeing beautiful scenery, we always parked our car beside the road, took photos, had a rest. We totally threw ourselves behind our plan which had been changed again and again, but everybody was happy, nobody minded we had to make a new plan all the time. At that moment, mum had to accept that self-driving was the best decision we made. We had experienced the best journey.

I'd like to tell you about a trip I took with three friends of mine about a year ago. We were in Mexico and we decided to hire a car and travel around the country for four weeks. We did some planning before we set off, but not that much, we wanted it to be like an adventure. We chose one of the major areas in the North, East, West and South of the country to visit and planned to visit some other interesting places while travelling between those four major areas.

We all took turns driving and it was truly a great trip, one that I'm sure we'll all remember for a long time. Like I said, we didn't really have a plan but we wanted to see as much of the country as we could in the time we had free.... so we just used to drive for a couple of hours and then stop in a village or town and take a walk around and see some of the sights, have something to eat and drink and relax a little. Then we'd continue on to the next place we had marked on our map.

In the evenings we would find a hotel and settle in for the night, go for something to eat, maybe go to a bar or restaurant and have a look around the place. We met some very interesting people and also had some good times... we spent one evening dancing with mariachi bands and I can remember we met a group of foreign students on another evening in a restaurant, they were from Europe, and we spent a lot of time talking with them.

There are various reasons I will never forget that particular trip. One of them is the sheer size of the country... it's massive, and each area is different, there's a lot of diversity in terms of the climate, the environment and people and so on. Then there were specific moments that are unforgettable like driving across the desert which lasted for hours and hours... it was truly immense and we only saw one other vehicle while we were driving... and spending Christmas in Cancun was great fun, on the beach having a great time together. Really, so many happy memories we all have from the time we spent traveling and exploring. The whole experience was just amazing!

Last week, I had a great car journey from Austin to Dallas. I started from Austin for Dallas which was 195 miles away. It was a pleasant journey for me after long days. Thank you so much for the interesting question. I will answer it in brief.

It was the birthday of my friends, Jimmy. He planned for the trip with his own car that he received from his father marking his 19th birthday. He planned to thank his dad for driving the car to his home in Dallas. In fact, he is a student of architecture and we are in the same university in Austin in the USA. We all had fun during the trip. Luckily, the roads were almost empty as it was a holiday. But it took a long time for us to reach there as we stopped in several places and took snacks and beverages.

I was accompanied with three other people including Jimmy. He was my best friend and thus he asked me to comment on his plan to visit his parents on his birthday. Jimmy was surprised with the car that his father had sent for him and was delivered at night. So, he planned to surprise them to be there and a have a lunch on the day. After the plan, we moved there. Samuel, Jimmy, Rupert and I was the member of this trip. Jimmy was an excellent driver but I had no idea that he could drive so well. He never crossed the speed limit despite having the chances. He also forbade us not to take any alcoholic beverages during the ride.

I went there by car mostly based on the request made by Jimmy. I agreed with him for some reasons. I have just completed a semester and the classes for the new semester was yet to begin. So, life was boring and I could not focus on other entertaining activities. The proposal was very charming and I instantly agreed with Jimmy. I also assumed that the journey would be interesting as two of our best friends were going too. Finally, we made the journey by car and really enjoyed to the last moment. I am grateful to Jimmy for offering such a nice trip.

We performed a circumambulation around the temple and went inside to pay obeisance. After that, we went to the community kitchen and took the consecrated food. Then, we sat inside the corridors of the temple and said our prayers. After meditating for almost an hour, we decided to go to the famous markets of Amritsar and did a lot of shopping. We also bought some souvenirs for our friends and relatives. In the evening around 4:30 pm, we started our journey back and reached home at 10 pm. We specifically took that journey by car because we wanted to thank the god for the gift he has blessed us with and we wanted that the first journey we took by our car was the most special journey of our life.
